Rating: Poor, low end Bolognese coffee
The Move Natural Food & Caffè is a small trendy locale offering a Bistrot atmosphere and kicking out healthy dishes that are alternatives to the pizza and panini standards. I hadn’t gone in this place before because it seemed simply like a lunch place, but they’ve added a large ‘café’ sign to their exterior and well, thought maybe now they had added some mono-origin organic coffee that might be interesting. It goes with the restaurant, etc. so why not? Well let’s see what they had in store.

This is what the nice barista gave me:

Presentation: Ok, a nice colorful cup. It’s a brand from Bologna that I’ve had before, so no third-wave inclined locale, but neither a solidly Roman bitterness one. No water was offered. The counter is like face high, and not really a ‘coffee counter’. So you’re expected to take your coffee and move somewhere to a table outside or inside.
Temperature of Cup: Super boiling hot.
Quantity: It was a bit too long in my opinion. The cup was rather large and it was full espresso. In the US this would have been on the mark.
Temperature: Super hot still, even after waiting for a while.
Volume/Consistency: Very thin, runny, watery.
Crema: The crema was originally quite nice and even, not too over extracted, and very fine micro foam to it. So some rather better Arabica blend in there than 99.9% Robusta.

Odor: It didn’t offer much of a smell.
Taste: It was a metallic harsh rancid taste. It wasn’t very pleasant at all. Then came the burnt taste of the coffee and that just did it for me.

Overall: If you added a lot of sugar into this, it would probably have masked a lot, but as is, it was undrinkable.
The setup: They had a small La Cimbali espresso machine and a la Cimbali ENEA on demand grinder that is very cool. So the tools where there to make it a stellar coffee. The coffee being served is a Bologna based Club Kavé Caffè. I really have never been impressed by their coffee, so I’m still to be convinced otherwise.
