MARCUCCI BAR CAFFÈ, VIA DI MONTEVERDE 1, 00152 ROMA
Rating: Standard, slightly above average Roman coffee
The Marcucci Bar Caffè sits on the Via di Monteverde and is directly across the street from the Romagnani Caffè (reviewed previously). It has a very different feel, more for older folk, and more of a nice, clean yet more mature atmosphere to it. Let’s see how it’s coffee compares.

Asking for a coffee gets you this nice thing:

Presentation: Water served immediately, the cup sported a cool ‘Tazza d’Oro’ logo on it, and it was generally a nice experience.
Temperature of Cup: Good, not hot – not cold, spot on.
Quantity: Short espresso, good!
Temperature: Spot on.
Volume/Consistency: Watery, not thick.
Crema: Thin, not persistent, died halfway down the drinking experience. It was a bit on the blondish side.

Odor: No real odor to it, quite mute.
Taste: Nutty flavor, yes, I’ll admit that after tasting it for a bit, I could tell there was some type of depth to the flavor here!

Overall: Not offensive, not mind blowing, and since it did hint at some sophistication in the flavor, it’s the rating it gets.
The setup: They had a La Cimbali three group semiautomatic, that was very new (you only see the back side of it here) and a La Cimbali grinder. The coffee of course was the Tazza d’Oro, a place that I’ll try to review in the coming days!
The place was just as classy as its next door neighbor, but had something different, more conservative about it. There were ample tables in the back to sit and relax.
